Thanks to the hard work of the Auto Care Association, ACES and PIES technology will continue to expand internationally. As stated on the Auto Care website, the association was awarded “$299,000 from the International Trade Administration’s (ITA) Market Development Cooperation Program (MDCP) to help the automotive industry facilitate the implementation and adoption of ACES and PEIS technology standards in China and Latin American markets.” In addition, “the Auto Care Association will match the MDCP award with an investment of its own resources.” This is a major milestone for the automotive industry, as it will help the continuous improvement of communication and efficiencies between all business partners in the automotive industry. ACES and PIES have become the universal industry-standard format in which to organize automotive fitment and attribute product data to improve the collection and collaboration of product data.
“The Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard (ACES) is the aftermarket industry data standard for the management and communication of product fitment data for light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles, powersports, and off-highway and equipment.”
“The Product Information Exchange Standard (PIES) is the aftermarket industry data standard for the management and communication of product information and attributes. By utilizing ACES and PIES, as well as best practices, it allows for companies to be more efficient in communicating information for their products that is critical to do business.”
